Isn’t shopping for guys sometimes one of the hardest part of the holiday season? Sick of picking out yet another tie?? Whether you need a gift for your son, brother, or that special hubby of yours, try these homemade gift ideas to add that special “thinking of you” touch.
A gift basket is a great way to give him several little things all tied into his favorite hobby or sport. You could give the golf fanatic in your life a gift basket with new golf balls, maybe some new tees, a subscription to his favorite golf magazine, or even a gift certificate to the local golf course. Is your son a football fanatic? Give him a basket full of game day treats, a football mug or collector glass, and maybe even tickets to one of the games! Okay – if you are really crafty you could make your own basket to fill. I am not that talented, but you can buy baskets as cheap as a few dollars at your local craft store.
Need homemade gift ideas for your teenage son? If you are like me and dreading the fact that he is now a licensed driver, you could make up an emergency kit for him to keep in the trunk of his car. Fill a duffel bag with jumper cables, a flashlight and batteries, first aid gear, a couple flares, a blanket, and maybe even a membership for your local auto club.
Does your husband or special someone enjoy cooking? Give him a cookbook full of new recipes for his favorite cuisine, some kitchen tools that will come in handy all year round, or you could even surprise him and sign the two of you up for a cooking class for both of you to enjoy together. If you and your man are in need of some quality couple time, fill a basket with a few romantic items such as scented oils, candles, and new lingerie and surprise him with it after a candlelit dinner that you prepare.
