Valentine Homemade Gift Ideas for Your Kids

Kids like being celebrated on Valentine’s Day just like adults do and it is fun to make them gifts that make them feel special and let them know they are loved. One of my favorite valentine homemade gift ideas is to purchase a plastic see through box; I’ve always chosen the size of a shoe box but you can use any size you like. I like the fact that they can use these long after the celebration is over so I buy the plain kind and then decorate it with stickers and ribbons. Inside, I put candy and small trinkets. I usually include some valentine themed pencils and candy. For the younger children, I would include a small toy and as the kids started getting older, I moved on to their favorite CDs or lotion or something like that.

Making your own valentine box works great for kids of any age and it is especially easy if you have kids of varying ages. That way, they all get the same present but you can personalize each box as well. Let your imagination run wild and fill your valentine boxes with the kinds of things your kids like.

Sucker bouquets are another favorite of my valentine homemade gift ideas to give to children. They also make great centerpieces for the kids’ table if you are having a dinner party or you can make a few bouquets for them to take to school as well. If you like, you can present each of your children with a bouquet made especially for them. Use your imagination here. You can either tie the bouquet with ribbon or arrange the suckers loose in a jar. You could also buy the floral foam and stick them in the foam just like you would artificial flowers.

Look for stems or picks you can include in your sucker bouquet. You can buy the taller stems with hearts on the end or you can use picks and make your own hearts to go on them. Curl ribbon makes an attractive addition and you can use a wide variety of suckers to make your bouquet. Brainstorm for more valentine homemade gift ideas and you can come up with some truly unique gifts for your children that they will treasure.
